CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 Preview

ConexpoEvery three years the construction industry meets in Las Vegas for its largest equipment exhibition. This year, CONEXPO-CON/AGG will take place March 22-26, 2011. As of press time, more than 2,000 exhibitors will be on hand to show off their latest products and newest technologies. The show will also feature 126 educational sessions that cover topics such as equipment manager exams, crane operator certification programs, site development, asset management, sustainability and workforce development. New to CONEXPO-CON/AGG this year is the International Mixer Drive Championship—a live competition that will recognize the most talented individuals worldwide in delivering one of the world’s most versatile building materials.

Several industry associations are co-locating their events with CONEXPO-CON/AGG. ICON Expo, sponsored in part by the National Concrete Masonry Association, will showcase concrete products and technologies. AEM, sponsor of CONEXPO-CON/AGG, will host its annual conference and the Crane and Rigging Conference will offer safety personnel, fleet and facility managers, as well as operators an independent forum where crane users and suppliers can debate real-world dynamics of working with this equipment.

The Green Roads Summit (See p. 43), sponsored by the U.S. Federal Highway Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Associated General Contractors of America and the Construction Materials Recycling Association, will provide the construction industry with an inside viewpoint on the future of the green roads programs.

C&D World has put together just a small preview of C&D exhibitors that will be on hand to discuss their exciting new products. For a complete list of exhibitors, floor plans and registration information, visit www.conexpoconagg.com.

Telsmith—Booth C-5133
Telsmith will introduce the new Tel-Trax Model TC52SBS—a higher capacity track-mounted cone crushing plant suited to work in conjunction with larger primary track plants (such as the Tel-Trax TJ3258 Jaw) to increase the production capabilities of track-mounted systems. Built around the 400 hp, model 52SBS cone crusher, the TC52SBS is one of the largest track cone plants available in the industry today. The plant significantly boosts tonnage output in secondary and tertiary applications, while accepting larger feed (up to 12-in. topsize) when compared to the more common 300 hp units. The 52SBS features a Dynamic Adjust system that enables adjustment under load; overload protection via hydraulic relief and clearing; a unique hydraulic lock system; and an optional anti-spin system that extends manganese life. For enhanced operational efficiencies, the Telsmith Tel-Trax Model TC52SBS is outfitted with automation controls that reduce the need for operator oversight. The system monitors parameters such as crusher overload, feed bin levels, diesel power supply and the discharge conveyor to automatically adjust the feed rate. The automated controls package also allows a soft link to additional Tel-Trax crushing and screening plants to provide a completely linked and integrated processing solution.

Telsmith will also introduce the new H3244 Hydra-Jaw. ngineered with a true 32-in.
