CMRA Organizing Green Highways Forum at 2011 ConExpo-Con/Agg

In partnership with the Green Highways Partnership, Federal Highway Administration, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Associated General Contractors, and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, the Construction Materials Recycling Association is organizing a day-long Green Highways Workshop during the CONEXPO-CON/AGG Exhibition March 22-26, 2011, in Las Vegas.
“The Green Highway movement is growing as fast as the original green building movement,” said William Turley, executive director of the CMRA. “We wanted to be able to present to the contracting industry what is coming down the pike in this area.”
Currently the program is being developed for the workshop, but submissions on possible presentations are being considered. Contact the CMRA at [email protected]; 630-585-7530.
The goal is to develop a conference at CONEXPO-CON/AGG that will encompass all aspects of green highways and present it to the highway paving industry in order to stimulate support, knowledge of and interest in green highways concepts. The potential to make this a global event exists in that sustainability goes beyond borders and best practices can be combined from a range of countries/regions. But this also provides the best chance to reach out to the highway industry. CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the largest show in this marketplace.
