Armstrong Ceiling Tile Recycling Specs Available

Since 1999, Armstrong Ceiling, in collaboration with partners around the country, has diverted more than 80 million square feet of old ceilings from landfills. That’s more than 40,000 tons of construction waste—and it keeps growing.

Under that program, ceiling tiles were required to be palletized and shrink wrapped before shipping back to the Armstrong factory. Now, the company is recycling in bulk methods in specific parts of North America. It has set up and is in the process of adding more C&D recyclers in a region as a gathering point for the ceiling tiles gathered  by others. Then that facility bales and sends back the material to the Armstrong factory. For more information on the program, call 717-396-450; www.armstrong.com/ceilings. See the Raw Material Specification document on page 13.
