Monday, 31 October 2011 12:28
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has asked for comments on how to measure a variety of waste streams, including construction and demolition materials. While the agency has been measuring many of the waste streams it is seeking comment on, which besides C&D includes municipal solid waste (MSW) and non-hazardous industrial materials.
In addition, the EPA is seeking comments on the sustainable management of these materials through recycling, waste minimization and source reduction. The agency has issued a Federal Register notice asking for comments on these aspects of measurement. All comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. EDT September 30, 2011. To learn more, including how to submit comments, go to

The CMRA will be providing comments on behalf of the C&D recycling industry, but urges others to provide their viewpoints.
