WM Buys City-Wide in Milwaukee

Waste Management Inc. has acquired City Wide Recycling LLC, a Milwaukee-based mixed C&D recycler that was the first such facility in Wisconsin’s largest city. Terms of the deal, which closed at the end of 2009, were not announced.
The acquisition gives Waste Management of Houston an automated processing facility in Milwaukee that handles recyclable wastes collected at construction and demolition job sites. The plant, which has General Kinematics and Sherbrooke equipment, can handle 1,000 tons per day and has been in operation for about two years.
