Jay Marak, safety director for Houston-based Cherry Companies, has been invited to become a member of
Zurich North American Construction Roundtable. Zurich, a leading provider of commercial general liability insurance, selects individuals who are considered to be safety leaders within the construction industry for participation in the roundtable. The group, which currently consists of 35 invitees, addresses construction industry safety issues and produces white papers on solutions and recommendations that are shared within the construction industry.
The Steel Market Development Institute (SMDI) has announced that Steel Recycling Institute (SRI) President
William M. Heenan is stepping down due to health reasons after a distinguished career in the steel industry, including 20 years with SRI and 19 years with United States Steel Corp. SMDI also announced the appointment of
Gregory L. Crawford as executive director of the Steel Recycling Institute effective December 1, 2010, succeeding Heenan.

Steve Patton regional sales manager for California, Arizona and Nevada. Patton has extensive experience with industry associations, contractors and OEM equipment sales. Prior to joining Peterson, Patton had his own consulting firm advising clients on green waste recycling, biomass solutions and training on best practices for the industry.
