Morbark, Inc. has appointed James W. Shoemaker Jr. president. Shoemaker replaces Lon Morey who will remain chairman of the board of directors. Shoemaker joined Morbark in 2003 as the manager of operations and has held numerous positions in the company. Previously, he served as vice president of operations and board member. Prior to joining Morbark, Shoemaker spent 25 years with the Jervis B. Webb Co. managing operations, accounting and supply chain.
General Kinematics announced Thomas Musschoot has been promoted to vice president of component sales and marketing. In this new role, he will be responsible for all component sales activities, as well as oversee his current marketing and R&D responsibilities. The company also announced that Randy Smith, current vice president of component sales, has been promoted to a new executive role overseeing global strategic projects, while also retaining his responsibilities as vice president of technical services.
Komptech USA has appointed Marcel Vallen CEO. Vallen has more than 25 years of experience in the waste handling industry; starting as a machine operator and rising to plant management and then executive positions. A native of the Netherlands, he has long worked closely with European and American machine manufacturers and has a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the market including the technical business and operational levels. Prior to joining Komptech USA, Vallen was CEO of CBI Europe, importing U.S.-made grinders and shredders for the European market.
Genesis Attachments and Paladin Brands have appointed Tony Choo director of Asian operations for Paladin Brands Asia, a division of Singapore-based Dover Asia Trading. Choo will be responsible for developing a dealer/distributor network and bringing the full range of Genesis attachments, as well as tools offered by other Paladin Brands companies, to new and existing customers in the Asia Pacific region.
As part of its initiative to grow international sales, Johnson Crushers International, Inc. (KPI-JCI) has appointed Randy Orre international sales director. Orre, one of Johnson Crushers International’s founders, will now be responsible for sales of JCI’s new equipment outside of the United States and Canada. The position is an expansion of his previous role as international sales coordinator.
Superior Industries has appointed Matt Voigt conveying equipment application engineering specialist. Voigt will help Superior’s existing territory managers develop material handing solutions for their customers in North America and around the world. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin—Platteville, Voigt graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in 2003. During college, he began working at Metso for the company’s line of Barmac Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) crushers. While responsible for design and research and development, Voigt’s job took him to New Zealand for a year before returning to the United States to work in Barmac’s product and technical support division. He also spent time designing crushing and screening plants, managing mobile solution’s sales and managing distributor partners in the southeast United States.
